If wisdom is getting the important things approximately right, here are a few small things I’m willing to stake my reputation on:

1. Jeans are cooler when you don't wear them everyday
2. Surround yourself with people who have good taste.
3. Try something new, because you should always be a beginner at something. It's good for the ego.
4. Shield yourself, as much as reasonably possible, from the current paradigm. Read weird stuff. Read old stuff. Read stuff nobody around you is talking about.
5. ... but know the classics.
6. If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.
7. You'll never find a better album than the one you loved at 17.
